Mr MacDonald is a good place to start. John MacDonald has been overshadowed in the flood of crime detective, action novels on the market place. Okay, he's no longer w/ us, but I love dead authors - really! I read Keys to the Suite and was impressed w/ the depth of character development & this was a short book. A good lesson for us all. How did he do it? Yes, MacDonald got into the nuances of how characters act, talk and dress, etc. A good place to start, but there's something more in bringing characters to life. He's a master at it.
Anyone else see the same thing?

Art for Art's Sake
Art for art's sake sounds like a nice, catchy phrase so I'm using it. For those who just want to chat, I plan on adding a post to this location so general comments can be made.

Well Written Films
Movie Review. I love diamonds in the rough. In my opinion a film that was overlooked was Flawless w/ Demi Moore & Micheal Caine. A well written script and a powerful story overall. For those who don't know it the movie focuses on the greedy getting their just desserts - a favorite theme of mine.
